DAY 1 – Scenic flight in a private chartered bush plane from Lake Hood, the world’s largest seaplane base, to Rainy Pass Lodge, Alaska’s oldest recreational lodge. Land on Puntilla Lake and meet your hosts for a brief orientation and tour of the property. Get settled and unpack in your cabin, then meet your horse and get saddled up for a ride to see the historic log cabin and cache remains from the original trapper who settled in the area.

DAY 2 – Begin the day with lodge activities. Then hike up Monument Hill for an amazing view of the valley. More adventurous guests can continue on to the waterfall. Return to the lodge for appetizers before dinner.
DAY 3 - Begin the day with lodge activities. Then after lunch take off on a helicopter ride for wildlife viewing and land on one of Alaska’s 10,000 glaciers! You’ll never get this close on a cruise ship! |
DAY 4 – Hop in for a helicopter ride to Rainy Pass Lake cabin, the highest spot on the famous Iditarod sled dog trail. Grill out and stay overnight in the true wilderness of Alaska. In the morning, fish for Dolly Varden trout and hike along the historic Iditarod Trail where you can see the Rainy Pass sign at the highth of the land.
DAY 5 – Helicopter excursions and flight seeing tours to our camps at Moose Creek and Jimmy Lake. Touch down to enjoy some light hikes and finish the day fishing for Grayling and Dolly Varden Trout. -OR- A helicopter excursion to Upper Indian Creek for a hike into sheep country to photograph ewes and lambs. Then back to the Lodge for a relaxing evening. |
DAY 6 – A mimosa brunch with stunning views of Ptarmigan Valley at the top of Look Out hill. (Accessible via a short horseback ride or hike). Continue along the Iditarod Trail to search for original sled-dog booties. Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying lodge activities or relaxing by the lake.
DAY 7 – Scenic private charter flight back to Anchorage with a stop at an amazing bear viewing location to cap off your trip before you touch down in Anchorage. |
Our weeklong trips are limited to approximately six people for more personal attention and customizable options. You may spend more or less time on certain activities if you wish. Other Lodge Activities include:
